The Change Flick is Considering to Restore Barcelona's Balance
Thursday 09-10-2025
German coach Hans Flick, the head coach of FC Barcelona, is considering making an important tactical adjustment after the recent defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla, by deploying star Marcus Rashford in the center forward position number 9 with the aim of regaining high pressure from the front line.

Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Flick and his coaching staff analyzed the two matches in detail, noting that Barcelona suffered against Paris Saint-Germain from a clear physical and tactical superiority, while the team lacked sharpness and discipline in pressing from the start against Sevilla.

Flick is considering implementing this change after the international break, provided that both Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Fermín are fit, as he plans to place Raphinha on the left, Yamal on the right, and Fermín behind Rashford in attack.

According to the newspaper, this change is expected to be implemented during the match against Olympiacos in the Champions League on October 21 at the Montjuïc Stadium, in preparation for the Clasico match against Real Madrid scheduled for October 26 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Through this step, Flick aims to restore Barcelona's attacking identity and organized pressing from the front line, which is the style that led the team to achieve a treble last season and come close to the Champions League final.
