Newcastle Faces Setback Over Wissa Injury
Friday 03-10-2025
Newcastle United has received a significant blow after confirming that their new striker Yohan Wissa will be out longer than expected, delaying his debut with the team since joining this summer from Brentford for £55 million.

Sky Sports reported that Wissa, 29, suffered a knee injury while playing for the Democratic Republic of Congo national team in early September, and he has not yet been able to play any matches with Newcastle.

Coach Eddie Howe explained that new medical reports indicate that the player's absence will extend to eight weeks instead of six, meaning he will miss the match against West Ham in the Premier League on November 2, as Newcastle faces five important matches before that date.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports confirmed that there is positive news regarding midfielder Jacob Ramsey, who joined for £40 million, as he is nearing a quick return after recovering from an ankle injury, and he is expected to be included in the squad against Nottingham Forest in the league.
