Reason for Delaying Al-Ahly's Negotiations with Imam Ashour

Media figure Ahmed Shobir revealed the reason behind Al-Ahly's delay in negotiations with Imam Ashour, the team's star, for renewing his contract.

Shobir stated on his radio program "With Shobir" that it was the Al-Ahly administration that proposed extending Imam Ashour's contract, not the player himself.

He added that Al-Ahly officials recognized the player's right to receive a better contract and a financial increase after the impressive performance he delivered with the team, but negotiations halted after the club sensed that the player was being unreasonable with his financial demands, which led the management to temporarily postpone the matter.

Shobir concluded his statements by emphasizing that this is a normal occurrence in the world of football, stressing that it is the club's right to suggest contract modifications for its players, and it is the player's right to negotiate for what he deems appropriate for his future, while the final decision remains in the hands of both parties to achieve mutual interest.
