Barcelona's Performance with Flick at Home: Strong Offense and Concerning Defense
Sunday 14-09-2025
Today, FC Barcelona plays its first official match of the season at home against Valencia, in the fourth round of La Liga, at the Johan Cruyff Stadium instead of Montjuïc. This match marks the first appearance of German coach Hans Flick in front of the team's fans.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", last season's statistics showed that Barcelona, under Flick's leadership, delivered a strong offensive performance at home, having played 28 domestic matches across all competitions, achieving 20 wins, 4 draws, and 4 losses, all in La Liga.

Barcelona scored 85 goals at home, averaging 3 goals per match, distributed as follows: 52 goals in the league, 24 in the Champions League, and 9 in the Copa del Rey. However, the team's defense appeared less solid, conceding 32 goals, a relatively high figure, bringing the total number of goals conceded for the season to 72, the third-highest figure of the current century so far.

In the league, Barcelona earned 43 points out of a possible 57 at home, with a percentage of 75.43%, which is lower than the points percentage they collected away from home at 78.94%. The overall victories in all competitions at home reached 71.41%, increasing to 85% in matches they did not lose, while away from home, the percentages were 75% and 84.37% respectively.

Despite some defensive gaps, the statistics highlight Barcelona's ability under Flick to deliver a strong attacking performance in front of their fans, which is expected to be confirmed tonight against Valencia.
