Najaf's Problems Escalate Before the Start of the Iraqi Stars League
Saturday 13-09-2025
The Najaf Club administration is facing a crisis days before the start of the first round of the Iraqi Stars League 2025–2026, following a disagreement with the team's striker, Alaa Abbas, over the terms of his financial contract.

Alaa Abbas, who signed a contract worth 190 million Iraqi dinars, has demanded an increase in his salary to exceed 300 million dinars, similar to his teammate Safaa Hadi, which has led to a temporary halt in negotiations between the player and the club.

This disagreement has caused the player to miss the team's delegation heading to Duhok province, where Najaf Club will face Erbil in the opening matches of the league, increasing pressure on the technical management and coaching staff.

The club's administration is expected to seek urgent solutions to avoid any negative impact on the team's readiness before its first official match of the new season, amid widespread public attention to resolve the crisis quickly to ensure the key player's participation with the team.
