Gavi's Injury Raises Concerns in Barcelona

The injury to Spanish player Gavi's knee has caused a state of concern within FC Barcelona, after he missed team training since the club announced on August 30 that he had suffered an injury to his right knee, without disclosing precise details about the nature of the injury or the expected duration of absence.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca", a new medical meeting was held on Friday to monitor the player's condition, during which it was agreed to continue conservative treatment for the time being, while confirming that the option of surgical intervention remains on the table depending on the results of upcoming tests. A new medical meeting is expected to take place next week to assess the condition of the knee and determine the next steps.

It is certain that Gavi will not be able to return to participate before the next international break, whether he continues with conservative treatment or decides to undergo surgery. Estimates suggest that the duration of absence could reach up to six weeks, making his participation in the Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26 extremely difficult.

Despite the fears, close sources confirmed that the current injury is not a setback from the injury the player previously suffered with the Spanish national team, for which he underwent surgery for cartilage and a ligament tear that kept him off the pitch for nearly a year. Although the current injury is located in the same right knee, it is a completely different injury.

This injury represents a painful blow for coach Hans Flick, who was relying on Gavi as part of his plans for the current season, especially after the player struggled last season to return to his physical level following a long absence due to injury.
