UEFA Approves Barcelona's Return to Camp Nou
Tuesday 02-09-2025
Spanish reports confirmed that the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has officially approved Barcelona to play its group stage matches in the Champions League at Spotify Camp Nou.

This decision comes despite it being theoretically prohibited under safety standards during renovation works, noting that the Catalan club has not yet set a date for its return to the stadium.

Reports indicated that UEFA considered Barcelona's situation as a force majeure due to delays in the project timeline, which led to granting the club a special exception, provided that safety standards are met before hosting fans.

Although the first match against Paris Saint-Germain may not take place there, the remaining matches are expected to be held at the stadium after the essential work is completed.

It is noted that Barcelona will begin the group stage against Newcastle at St. James' Park, while the match against Paris Saint-Germain will be in the second round.

Barcelona is expected to play matches against Olympiacos, Frankfurt, and Copenhagen at Camp Nou.
