Thursday 21-08-2025
The "Radio Catalunya" network confirmed that the European Football Association (UEFA) has given FC Barcelona the green light to play their first match in the UEFA Champions League away from home, following a request submitted by the club.

This request comes amid the renovation works at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium, specifically in the main stand and the south goal area, which are the areas set to open first to accommodate around 27,000 fans.

Barcelona is scheduled to play the first 3 rounds of La Liga away from home, while the club is working to find a stadium to host the match against Valencia in the fourth round, which is supposed to take place at Barcelona's stadium.

The first round of the Champions League group stage will take place between September 16 and 18, and thus the club requested to hold their first match away from home, hoping to complete the renovation operations at the Camp Nou.
