Barcelona Wears Last Season's Jersey Against Mallorca
Barcelona wears last season's "green" jersey to avoid confusion.
Catalan newspaper "Sport" revealed the reason behind Barcelona wearing last season's jersey during their anticipated match against Real Mallorca today, Saturday, in the opening of La Liga.
The newspaper pointed out that this season's classic Barca jersey, which features blue and red colors, closely resembles Mallorca's primary jersey, which could create confusion for viewers, especially on television screens.
The newspaper added that the second jersey, inspired by basketball legend Kobe Bryant in gold, would also clash with the black shorts and socks of the opposing team, while the new third jersey in orange did not receive approval, as it is also close to Mallorca's color shades.
Due to these circumstances, Barcelona had no choice but to wear last season's kit to avoid any visual confusion during the match.
