Officially.. Barcelona Prepares to Register Juan Garcia
Barcelona issued a statement confirming that the medical committee of the Spanish league 'La Liga' classified the injury of German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen as a long-term injury, according to the applicable regulations.
Based on this decision, the Catalan club will proceed tomorrow to register goalkeeper Juan Garcia immediately in their roster, to compensate for ter Stegen's absence in the coming period.
This step comes after a crisis in the relationship between the club and the goalkeeper, when ter Stegen announced that he would undergo surgery and would be out for three months, while Barcelona was planning to use 80% of his salary to register new players, which requires an absence of more than four months.
The goalkeeper then refused to sign the medical report that the club intended to submit to 'La Liga', prompting the management to strip him of the captaincy and open a disciplinary procedure against him.
A few days ago, ter Stegen issued an official apology and agreed to sign the medical report, which led the club to restore the captaincy to him and close the disciplinary file permanently.
