Najaf Closes the File of Its Professional Players
The Najaf Club administration has completed the contracting procedures for the six allowed professionals, as part of the team's preparations for the upcoming football season, where the club aims to build a strong team capable of competing in the Iraqi Premier League.
The club's media office director, Ali Al-Khayyat, clarified that the team's roster is not yet complete despite closing the file on foreign players, pointing out that the most notable contracts were with the Syrian Mohammed Al-Marmour coming from Al-Najma of Bahrain, Senegalese Idrissa Nyan, and Ethiopian Banom, in addition to the other players that the administration has included to strengthen the lineup.
Al-Khayyat added that the date for the start of the training camp will be announced in the coming days, with the arrival of the new Egyptian head coach, Mohammed Abdel Azim, to Najaf on Tuesday, to take over the responsibilities of overseeing field preparations and directing the team.
He indicated that Abdel Azim has prepared a list of players he wishes to include, in addition to developing a comprehensive training program in coordination with the administration, aiming to build a cohesive team that presents performances worthy of the reputation of the Gazlan Al-Badia, and seeks to achieve distinguished results during the coming season.
The Najaf preparatory camp is expected to witness significant technical changes, in line with the ambitions of the administration and the fans, who hope to see a team capable of competing for the top positions in the Iraqi Premier League, and to restore the club's prestige to its well-known status in Iraqi football.
