Financial Hurdle Impeding Reda Slim's Return to Moroccan Clubs
Thursday 24-07-2025
A financial hurdle has emerged that may impede the return of Moroccan international Reda Slim, a player for Egyptian club Al Ahly, to the national league during the current summer transfer window, despite rumors of a potential transfer to one of the Moroccan clubs.

Reports have revealed that the Moroccan player has rejected all solutions proposed by the Egyptian club to facilitate his departure, insisting on receiving his full outstanding financial dues, which amount to $2.2 million, the remaining value of his contract extending for the next three years.

The reports added that Al Ahly is considering covering Slim's salary in the event of his departure, with the likelihood that his closest destination would be Ceramica Cleopatra, and if the player regains his technical form, the option to return to Al Ahly remains open.

The Egyptian club had taken a step to renew the player's contract, as Mohamed Ramadan, the sports director of Al Ahly, decided to extend his annual contract for four years with an increase in salary to $750,000 instead of $500,000, which doubled his current dues.

It is noteworthy that Reda Slim has been experiencing a decline in his performance with Al Ahly, having participated in 8 matches last season without scoring any goals, compared to his remarkable period with FAR Rabat, where he achieved the Moroccan league title in the 2022/2023 season after four successful seasons.
