Media figure Ahmed Shobair, a former star of Al Ahly, revealed the reason behind the club's management rejecting the departure of Malian player Aliou Diang to Al Hazm in Saudi Arabia during the current summer transfer window.
Shobair stated during his radio program "With Shobair" on "On Sport FM" that coach Jose Ribeiro requested Diang to remain in the team for the upcoming season.
Shobair clarified that Ribeiro considers Diang one of the key pillars in the midfield.
He added that the absence of Marwan Attia due to injury makes it important to keep Diang to maintain stability in this sensitive position.
