Reports revealed the reason for the absence of Moroccan Ashraf Ben Cherki, an Al Ahly player, from the team's training held at Mokhtar El-Tetch Stadium yesterday, Monday, after the resumption of training in preparation for the new season.

According to press sources, Ben Cherki received permission from Mohamed Youssef, the sports director of Al Ahly, to miss the training due to a technical malfunction in the plane that was supposed to take him from Morocco to Cairo.

The sources added that Ben Cherki will participate in Al Ahly's training on Tuesday morning normally without any obstacles.

Al Ahly players underwent physical measurements and medical examinations on Monday morning at Mokhtar El-Tetch Stadium, following an 18-day rest period granted to the team.
