Newcastle United has announced the completion of the signing of Swedish winger Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, on a long-term contract, for 55 million pounds sterling.
Elanga's transfer came after his impressive performance in the 2024/25 season with Nottingham Forest, where he scored 6 goals and provided 11 assists, contributing to his team's qualification for European competitions.
Elanga is 23 years old and is a teammate of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak in the Swedish national team. He has previously played over 100 matches in the Premier League, having started his professional career with Manchester United.
Coach Eddie Howe said: "I am extremely happy to welcome Elanga. He is an exciting talent with unique attacking qualities, including speed, energy, and the ability to create and score goals. He will be a great addition to our style of play, and he is eager to develop with us and achieve success."
For his part, Elanga said: "I am very excited and completely ready to wear the Newcastle shirt and fight for this wonderful club and its passionate fans. I had two special years at Nottingham Forest, but I am now happy to be here and contribute to the club's ambitious project."
