Former Zamalek Star Attacks Wissam Abu Ali
Tariq Yahya, the former Zamalek star, attacked Wissam Abu Ali, the Al Ahly star, for pressuring the management to leave this summer.
The Palestinian star has received many offers from Gulf and European clubs interested in signing him.
Tariq Yahya said on MBC Masr channel: "Regarding Wissam's story, any player has the right to choose his future and the place he wants to go to, and Al Ahly also has the right to do what it wants."
He continued: "The idea of a player pressuring a club is completely new in Egypt specifically, and no player can do that with clubs that have strong management; other than that, the player can do what he wants."
He added: "We don't want to say that Al Ahly has done good for Wissam and that he made him, especially since he has become a big star now and has popularity, but the player must respect the club's decisions, and bring the number that his club asks for and then leave; I don't know, he should be obliged to continue."
He concluded: "Zamalek received an offer of 6 million for Zizo a year and a half ago and rejected it; I mean, even if the amount and the offer that reached Al Ahly is not small, the management might not want to let him go because they have worked very hard with him, and the coaches have worked on him from the beginning and struggled with him, and his teammates helped him. Therefore, the story needs flexibility and give-and-take; both parties are significant, and the player now has teeth, so reaching a middle ground requires skill."
