Al-Ghandour: Beckham is Not Suitable as a Defender
Khaled Al-Ghandour, the former Zamalek star, confirmed that Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, the Al-Ahly player, is not suitable to be a defender.
Beckham joined Al-Ahly from Ceramica Cleopatra in the current summer transfer window.
Al-Ghandour said via On Sport FM radio: "Beckham is a skilled player who has the ability to bring the ball out from the back and is good at passing, but because he is such a talented player, he tends to make mistakes when bringing the ball out from the back due to his confidence in himself."
He continued: "I see that Ramadan Beckham's abilities and skills are not suitable for him to be a defender, but his abilities and skills place him in a position in midfield where he excels, and he could possibly be a right-back. However, his aerial abilities are not good. In my opinion, he is a good player who the coach can benefit from in a position other than center-back."
