Ramon Planes, the sporting director of the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, confirmed that his current presence in Barcelona is not for a vacation but falls under his responsibilities in the summer transfer market.

Planes explained that he is in Europe to monitor potential transfers and enhance communication with player agents, as most significant movements happen within the continent during this critical period.

He added: "We are in the middle of the transfer market, and this requires precise movements and direct meetings, so I am here in Barcelona for work and not for leisure."

He pointed out that his previous summer experience also involved a long time in Europe, where vital negotiations are concentrated and relationships with sports intermediaries are built.

Although he has allocated some time to visit his family, Planes emphasized that his visit is purely professional, stating that vacation periods are always postponed until after the market closes.
