Joan Laporta: We are working on signing a new player
Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, confirmed that the Catalan club has returned to the 1/1 rule, allowing the club to make new signings without 'restrictions or conditions' this summer.
Laporta said in a Senate meeting in Barcelona: 'We can sign players normally; we have returned to the 1/1 rule.'
He added: 'We are now in a competitive position. We are about to sign a new player (Juan Garcia), and we are working on signing another player (Nico Williams).'
He continued: 'We will definitely also sign (Nico Williams), which excites us a lot.'
He concluded: 'We currently have a flexible and smooth relationship with La Liga, which is why I believe we will be able to announce new signings soon.'
