Mohamed Al-Shennawy, the goalkeeper of Al-Ahly SC, revealed the reason for the defeat against Mexican Pachuca in the friendly cup tournament, losing 3-5 on penalties in preparation for the FIFA Club World Cup.

It is worth noting that Al-Ahly drew 1-1 in the regular time of the match before resorting to penalties, which they lost after Omar Kamel Abdelwahid missed his kick.

Al-Shennawy participated in the first half of the match and conceded the only goal from the opponent before leaving, allowing Mustafa Shobeir to participate in the second half.

Al-Shennawy stated via ON Time Sports channel that Al-Ahly players did their best against Pachuca and tried to implement the instructions of the team's coach, Jose Ribeiro.

He also confirmed that the team suffered from the humidity of the weather, similar to what they experience when facing African clubs away from home.

He explained that the goal of the match was to acclimatize to the weather conditions and to execute the new coach's instructions, pointing out that the weather will be different when facing Inter Miami.
