Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet expressed his great happiness at returning to Al Ahly.

Al Ahly announced his contract with Trezeguet for 5 seasons.

Trezeguet said through the club's official website: "I am very happy to return to Al Ahly again; it is my home where I started my journey in football, and I owe it for everything I have achieved, and I look forward to a new beginning and writing a history full of achievements."

He added, "I did not plan the timing of my return to the club, but I wanted to come back at my best level; so I can give my all. Thank God, I decided to return at a suitable time, and I hope to make the contribution that the team expects and to win titles in the upcoming period. Playing for Al Ahly is definitely an addition for any player."

He continued, "Being at Al Ahly is a great honor, no matter what I offer to the club, I will never be able to repay the favor of Al Ahly, which made my name and brought me to this position. Since my departure many years ago, I have been keen to follow the club's news and the team's matches, and I interact with them strongly; because I am a fan of Al Ahly before I am a player among its ranks."

Regarding his ranking among the team leaders, he said: "It is certainly a great honor for any player to wear the Al Ahly jersey, as well as to be in this position. However, there is another matter, which is that all players have great experiences and know well the principles and rules of work within the team, which makes things easier for the team captain, and even those who join from outside quickly adapt to this atmosphere. I confirm that it is a great honor to be among the team leaders."

About the FIFA Club World Cup, he explained: "It is definitely a very big tournament, and for the first time held in this format, and any player dreams of participating in it, but it is not the reason for my return to Al Ahly... I have previously participated in the FIFA Club World Cup with Al Ahly and played in the Premier League, the European League, and the Champions League, in addition to participating in the World Cup with the Egyptian national team, so I am returning for Al Ahly and not for a specific tournament."

He continued: "Al Ahly's group in the Club World Cup is very strong and includes distinguished teams, and Al Ahly, in general, participates to win titles... Since I joined Al Ahly when I was 9 years old, I have become accustomed to entering every tournament to win the title, and if I do not succeed in that, it is enough that I fought to achieve that goal... I do not think we will feel any pressure when playing the opening match in the Club World Cup; because our goal is to win in general... The tournament includes big names, but Al Ahly is characterized by being a team that does not rely on a single player."

He concluded: "Al Ahly is my home and my life... My message to the fans cannot be summed up in a few words; because they are the support and the main pillar, and they supported me even during my time outside the club; because I represented them and represented Al Ahly, and I thank them greatly, and I pledge that we will all fight to make them happy."
