Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, has made his final decision regarding the future of German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, as the summer transfer window approaches.

Although Ter Stegen's contract runs until June 30, 2028, reports have confirmed that his future with Barcelona is now in jeopardy, due to a decline in his performance and the club's desire to sign a new goalkeeper.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", Laporta has informed the Barcelona board of his intention to sell Ter Stegen during the summer transfer window, if an official agreement is reached with Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia, the goalkeeper of Espanyol.

Garcia has three years remaining on his current contract, which expires in June 2028, but Laporta is confident of his agreement to join Barcelona in the coming hours.

According to the same reports, the Catalan club does not plan to loan Garcia, but he will be the team's starting goalkeeper for the 2025/2026 season, while Polish Wojciech Szczęsny will be the second goalkeeper, if he renews his contract.
