The Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij expressed his sadness following Inter's loss of the Italian league title, despite winning the final round against Como, confirming that the team did everything it could but the decision was in the hands of others.

De Vrij said: "We did our duty on the field, and we knew we were relying on the result of another match. We did what we could, and we cannot give more than that."

He added: "In the end, we did not deserve the title, because the one who leads after 38 rounds is the one who deserves to be crowned, but we have an internal feeling that we could have done better."
