Bastoni Sends New Signal to Barcelona

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" revealed that Italian player Alessandro Bastoni, defender of Inter Milan, has once again sent a signal to Barcelona by liking a post by Pau Cubarsi on Instagram during the Catalan team's celebrations of the league title after the El Clasico against Real Madrid.

According to the newspaper, this is not the first time interaction has been observed between the players. Bastoni and Kouparsy have previously exchanged several likes on recent posts and follow each other on Instagram. Kouparsy had previously explained that this is because they are colleagues in the profession.

The report indicated that Bastoni's name is still among Barcelona's interests for the upcoming transfer window, despite this option recently declining within the Catalan club. The coaching staff believes that the team also needs defenders with great speed in open spaces, in line with coach Hans Flick's style, which relies on an advanced defensive line.

The newspaper added that Barcelona is considering other alternatives, including right-footed defenders, even though the initial priority was to sign a left-footed defender.

On the other hand, Bastoni has been waiting for weeks for a final move from Barcelona to start negotiations with Inter Milan regarding his potential departure. The newspaper mentioned that the player expressed his desire to move to the Catalan club since last January and agreed in mid-April to a five-season offer, while awaiting the final decision from Flick.

The report also clarified that the player wants clear confidence from the sporting director Deco, as well as from the German coach, given his understanding that his role on the field will be linked to the decision of the technical staff. It also pointed out that the financial cost of the deal might pose an obstacle to completing the contract, as Barcelona awaits gaining financial fair play margin.
