Como Secures European Presence for the First Time and Continues Champions Dream

Como continued their historic season with a valuable 1-0 away victory against Hellas Verona in the 36th round of the Italian league, officially securing qualification to a European competition for the first time in their history next season, while keeping the dream of qualifying for the Champions League alive.

The match held at the Bentegodi Stadium saw a relative advantage for Verona in the first half, as Suslov and Bowie threatened goalkeeper Botez's net, but Como's defense held firm until the end of the first half with a goalless draw. In the second half, the performance of coach Cesc Fabregas's team improved before Greek striker Tasos Douvikas scored the winning goal in the 71st minute, capitalizing on a defensive error inside the penalty area.
