Ranieri: New Roma Coach Agreement Confirmed
Claudio Ranieri, the head coach of AS Roma, confirmed that the management has completed the agreement with the new coach who will take over the team's leadership starting from the 2025/2026 season, noting that the timing of the official announcement is up to the club president.
In his statements, Ranieri said: "Of course, an agreement has been reached with the new coach, but now it's up to the president to decide when to announce it."
Regarding the numerous questions about the identity of the upcoming coach, Ranieri jokingly revealed: "Even my brother called me and said, 'Tell me, everyone is asking me,' so I told him, 'That's exactly why I don't say anything, so that the news doesn't spread.'"
Ranieri, who will continue at the club as an advisor to the president, confirmed that his new role will include providing technical advice and following up on administrative details.
He continued: "I will be an advisor to the club president, I talk to him constantly, informing him about what is going well and what needs improvement, and he always listens and acts accordingly, that's what I did this season as well."
During the press conference for Roma's last match against Torino, Ranieri reassured fans regarding the injury of Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk, stating: "Dovbyk completed the full training session today and is expected to be ready for the match."
Despite journalists' insistence on knowing the name of the new coach, Ranieri refused to reveal it, smiling: "I am not thinking now about how the new coach will be received, but I hope the fans feel sad when he leaves, as that would be a sign of his success. Did you expect me to mention a name?"
The Italian coach concluded his statements with a message of thanks to the Wolves fans, saying: "I thank the Roma fans for this wonderful support, I did not expect this amount of love. I always told the players to fight until the last second, and I am completely satisfied with what we have achieved, and we will give everything we have."
