Atletico Madrid Targets a Notable Deal from Porto

Atletico Madrid has entered the circle of clubs interested in signing Brazilian winger William Gomes, a player from Porto, during the current summer transfer window, as part of their efforts to strengthen their attacking options in preparation for the upcoming season.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS," the management of Atlético Madrid is closely monitoring the 20-year-old player, whose technical abilities have impressed Argentine coach Diego Simeone. He sees him as one of the emerging talents capable of contributing to the team.

The report indicated that Porto is not under any pressure to let go of the player this summer, as they are keen on keeping him for at least one more season. They will not consider any offers below the release clause in his contract, which amounts to 80 million euros.

Interest in Gomez is not limited to Atletico Madrid alone, as several prominent European clubs are monitoring his situation, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Roma, which could ignite competition to sign him in the coming period.

Porto signed the player from São Paulo in 2025 for around 10 million euros. He successfully caught attention during his first season with the Portuguese club by scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in 46 matches across various competitions.
