Officially: Saud Abdulhamid Permanently Transfers to Lens

AS Roma officially announced on its website the permanent transfer of Saudi defender Saud Abdulhamid to Lens, after the French club activated the purchase option included in the loan agreement between the two parties.

Saud moved to Lens in the summer of 2025 on loan from Roma, with a clause granting the French club the right to purchase his contract permanently at the end of the season. After the performances he delivered during his stint in the French league, Lens decided to activate this clause and keep him permanently in their ranks.

Saud's season with Lens saw significant development, as he received regular playing time and successfully established himself within the team. He contributed both offensively and defensively in several matches, which convinced the French management to proceed with purchasing his contract permanently.

The Saudi international joined Roma in the summer of 2024, becoming one of the first Saudi players to experience professional play in the Italian league, before later moving to Lens in search of greater opportunities for consistent participation. During his time with the Italian club, he participated in several matches and scored a goal wearing the Giallorossi jersey.

Saud's permanent move to Lens represents a significant step in his European career, as he will continue his journey in the French league after a successful first season. Meanwhile, Roma closes the chapter on the player completely after two years since his joining.
