Koubarci: Yamal has a lot to prove, and that's what we want next year
Barcelona defender Pau Koubarci spoke in press statements following the loss (3-2) against Villarreal in the 37th round of La Liga at the Montjuïc Stadium.
The player said in his remarks: "On the field, you don't suffer as much as you do outside of it, this is the coach's philosophy. We have achieved amazing results this way, and we hope it will be the same or better next year."
He added: "Inigo Martinez is an excellent player. Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, and Eric Garcia have also performed wonderfully. It has been a great defensive year, and everyone is happy."
He continued: "I have shared the locker room with Lamine Yamal for many years; he has a lot to prove. Imagine what awaits him. He has to be like any student in school. I hope he brings us a lot of joy. If he enjoys it, we will all enjoy it."
He followed: "I am very calm. I have always been a calm young man. Xavi gave me the opportunity. I did my best to show my readiness. I have a family environment and friends who clarify things for me. I try my best in training and matches."
He concluded: "Now it's time to rest, and next year, with our renewed energy, we will give everything we have and work to improve our performance in the next season, which will be tough."
