Media figure Ahmed Shobeir clarified the latest negotiations between Al-Ahly and the new Spanish coach, José Rivero, who is very close to taking over the leadership of the red team in the upcoming phase, succeeding the Swiss Marcel Koller.

Shobeir confirmed today, Wednesday, that José Rivero has arrived in Cairo and it is almost certain that he will be the new coach of Al-Ahly.

He stated: "There are points of contention, but they are solvable. The first is that Al-Ahly requested the continuation of Emad Nassar and Mohamed Shawky in the assistant staff, while coach José is coming with his entire staff but is willing to accept one of the two. "

He added: "The points of contention have been resolved, and there was talk about a performance analyst, and the other point was regarding the timing of taking over the responsibility, and it seems that Emad Nassar will complete the task with Al-Ahly until the end of the season."

He concluded: "Al-Ahly chose José Rivero for his youth and because he is a project coach, and within hours there will be a meeting with Mahmoud El-Khatib. Regarding the former coach Marcel Koller, there are positive discussions to resolve the issue of the penalty clause, noting that he has two good offers from the UAE and Saudi Arabia."
