Osasuna's Appeal Against Inigo Martinez's Participation Rejected
Spanish media reports have confirmed that the appeal submitted by Osasuna concerning the participation of Barcelona player Inigo Martinez in the match between the two teams in La Liga has been rejected.
Inigo had participated in his team's 3-0 victory over Osasuna in the postponed match from round 27 of La Liga, following the recent international break.
Osasuna's protest arose because FIFA regulations prohibit any player who has withdrawn from the national team or has not been called up from playing with his club for 5 days after his national team's last match during the break.
The disciplinary committee of the Spanish Football Federation stated that Inigo's participation was 100% legal, and his exclusion from the national team was in accordance with the usual procedures.
