Koundé: We Are Not Machines, What Happened Is Disrespect
Friday 28-03-2025
Barcelona defender Jules Koundé expressed his dissatisfaction and anger over the timing of the team's match against Osasuna, which the Catalan team won 3-0 in a postponed match from La Liga's 27th round.

Koundé said in his remarks: "I am very happy with this victory, we played well, we entered the match with full strength, and we did a good job. It was a special match because today was the birthday of our doctor who passed away."

He added: "We feel angry about the timing of the match; what happened is not normal. We have talked a lot about the schedule and the number of matches. I know there are people who find it difficult to understand that, but we are very lucky to do what we do. I consider myself lucky, and I believe my teammates feel the same because we live from our passion and have a good life."

He continued: "Playing during such a break is disrespectful to the club, regardless of the identity of the team, whether it's us, Osasuna, or even Real Madrid if it happened to them."

He added: "What happened goes beyond being disrespectful to the clubs; it is a disrespect to the players. It should be understood that we are not machines; we also need rest for the fans and to provide something worthy of them in competition."

He pointed out: "Institutions, including La Liga, must understand that they cannot schedule matches as they please."

He noted: "We played the match and did not complain, as the coach said we do not want to look for excuses. That is not what we do. However, there comes a moment when our voice should be heard because, in the end, we are the players; we are the ones who play the matches, and they cannot do whatever they want with us."

He concluded: "Today I wanted to say this, not for Barcelona but for all clubs and players."
