Kohler responds to Yankun's request regarding El-Shenawy

Swiss Marcel Kohler, Al-Ahly club’s technical director, held a session with Michel Yancon, the team’s goalkeeping coach, to determine the starting goalkeeper during the Ceramica match, in the Super Cup.

Reports revealed Yankun requested during the session that Mohamed El-Shenawy not participate in front of Ceramica, for several reasons, the most important of which was that he suffered a severe injury to the eyebrow during the Egyptian national team’s match against Mauritania.

Yankun believes that the injury may It prevented El-Shenawy from being able to see well in the match, and he also confirmed that the goalkeeper was suffering from severe pressure during the recent period, especially after the African Super Cup loss to Zamalek.

Yankun noted that El-Shenawy suffered from severe fatigue after participating with Egypt in the two Mauritania matches, and before that the African Super Cup, and the two matches with Kenya’s Gormahia in the African Champions League.

Despite the coach’s conviction in El-Shenawy’s experience, he responded to the vision of El-Shenawy. Yancon decided very largely to start goalkeeper Mustafa Schubert in tonight's Ceramica match.
