Yamal and Raphinha lead attacking duos in Europe with exceptional numbers
Raphinha and Lamine Yamal are delivering exceptional performances for FC Barcelona this season, having become the strongest attacking duo in European football, thanks to their significant goal contributions in various competitions.
Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that the duo scored 32 goals and provided 14 assists in LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal involved in 42 of the 60 goals scored by FC Barcelona this season, either by scoring or assisting, accounting for 70%.
The duo showcased their strength again during the victory over Aston Villa, winning 3-0, as Raphinha scored two goals and Lamine Yamal added another, confirming their importance in coach Hans Flick's plans.
Barcelona's brace surpasses the prominent attacking partnerships in Europe, as Michael Olise and Harry Kane, Bayern Munich's duo, have scored 22 goals and provided 16 assists, while Kylian Mbappé and Diomande have reached 19 goals and 7 assists, with their European match in the current round still to come.
On an individual performance level against Aston Villa, Lamine Yamal topped the shooting charts with 6 attempts, including 3 on target, which is the same number recorded by Raphinha. He was also the most prolific passer in the attacking third with 13 completed passes.
Raphinha stood out with the number of crosses he attempted, according to Opta statistics, continuing to show the duo's offensive impact with FC Barcelona.
