Official: Barcelona announces the nature of Rodri's injury and his status for the Atlético match
Barcelona have suffered a major blow after midfielder Rodri sustained a right hamstring injury, ruling him out of the upcoming match against Atlético, scheduled for Sunday.
The club stated on its official website that medical examinations confirmed the player sustained a minor injury to the hamstring after feeling muscular discomfort during the Aston Villa match, which he left at half-time.
According to "Sport", Rodri's injury will keep him out of action for four weeks, after tests confirmed he has suffered a tear in the hamstring of his right leg.
The player will miss four LaLiga matches against Atlético, Villarreal, Deportivo, and Celta Vigo, as well as a UEFA Champions League clash. He will also not join Spain during the upcoming international break.
According to the newspaper "Sport", Rodri could return in a tight timeframe before Manchester City's UEFA Champions League match, making his participation in the game a point of anticipation.
