Liverpool move for Lamine Camara as Monaco set departure fee
Liverpool continue to pursue Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara from AS Monaco, having taken preliminary steps towards signing him, although completing the deal during the upcoming winter transfer window remains challenging.
According to "TEAMtalk", journalist David Lynch believes that Liverpool have already begun preparing a deal for Lamine Camara, but he ruled out completing it in January due to the high financial demands of the French club.
AS Monaco were willing to part with the player for €50 million last summer, but they are currently asking for around €70 million, which is equivalent to £58 million.
Lynch indicated that signing a new midfielder may require the departure of one of the current players, but he does not expect manager Andoni Iraola to agree to part with Alexis Mac Allister in the middle of the season.
In contrast, Chelsea have decided to abandon their efforts to sign Lamine Camara after failing in their summer attempt, and have turned their attention to Alex Scott, a player from AFC Bournemouth.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool have been monitoring Lamine Camara for a long time and are planning significant reinforcements in midfield in 2027.
