Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of Senegalese Lamine Camara, a midfielder for AS Monaco, as Chelsea have decided to shift their focus to another target during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Chelsea were close to signing Lamine Camara on the final day of the summer transfer window, before the deal collapsed despite an agreement being reached between all parties.

TEAMtalk has reported that Liverpool are monitoring the 22-year-old player and have made contact with his representatives, according to The Sun.

AS Monaco are demanding around £60 million for the player, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, while the player's contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2029.

According to journalist "Pete O'Rourke", via Football Insider, Chelsea have shifted their interest from Lamine Camara and made Alex Scott, AFC Bournemouth's player, their preferred target for January.

TEAMtalk has added that Chelsea are ready to pay over £100 million to sign Alex Scott, giving Liverpool a greater chance to continue their efforts to sign a player from AS Monaco.
