Villarreal coach warns players not to show fear against Paris Saint-Germain

Villarreal's coach, Iñigo Pérez, expressed his great admiration for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the anticipated match between the two teams on Wednesday evening in the UEFA Champions League, warning his players not to show any feelings of fear or inferiority against the French team.

Perez said during the press conference: "Regardless of the pitch, the opponent, or the timing, they are merciless; they are like a crushing machine, and that is exactly what I expect from them."

He added: "We must recognize their strengths and acknowledge that they are a strong team, but we need to overcome the inferiority complex and impose ourselves, trying to prove that we have the required level. If we don't do that, they will sense our fear and they won't show us any mercy."

Villarreal's coach praised his counterpart Luis Enrique, expressing admiration for his character and approach to success and failure. He said: "Since he took charge of the project, the results have come. He is a brilliant coach with a strong personality, and I admire the way he manages success and failure. For someone who started his coaching career like me, it is an honor to work with him and his team."

Despite Paris Saint-Germain suffering from significant absences, notably Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos, and Nuno Mendes, the French side delivered a strong performance against Le Havre, achieving a resounding 5-1 victory. Meanwhile, Villarreal enters the match following a home defeat to RCD Espanyol Barcelona by a goal to nil.

Regarding the match against the European champions, Pérez showed optimism, stating: "What could be better for us to regain confidence than facing the best team in the UEFA Champions League, the one that has won the title in the last two years? There is nothing better than facing the big teams, and I don't see that as a problem; rather, we accept it, and tomorrow we have an important test ahead of us."
