Tottenham renew interest in signing Amine Gouiri at request of De Zerbi
Algerian international Amine Gouiri is back on Tottenham's radar, as they are considering a move for him during the upcoming January 2027 transfer window. This interest comes at the request of their Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi, who is looking to strengthen the team's attacking options.
Turkish journalist Akram Konur has revealed that the London club has returned to its interest in Algerian striker Amine Gouiri, who is 26 years old, ahead of the upcoming transfer window. This comes in response to a request from De Zerbi, who previously managed Gouiri during his time at Olympique Marseille.
The source indicated that Tottenham had previously entered into negotiations with the French club during the last summer transfer window to explore the possibility of signing the player, but the talks did not last long after the English club's management decided to keep their forwards Richarlison and Dominic Solanke.
However, Richarlison's future could pave the way for a new move to sign Amine Gouiri, amid speculation about his potential departure in January, and Tottenham's management being open to considering offers for him, especially with the team's need to improve their attacking output after a modest start in the Premier League this season.
Despite De Zerbi's interest in the Algerian striker, the completion of the deal remains tied to resolving Richarlison's situation first, before Tottenham officials take any official steps to negotiate for the Olympique Marseille player.
Amine Gouiri has impressive numbers this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in eight matches in Ligue 1, totaling seven goal contributions. His current tally equals the number of goals he scored throughout last season, when he netted five goals in 22 matches.
