Tottenham consider signing Amine Gouiri from Marseille
Algerian international Amine Gouiri is back on Tottenham's radar, as they are considering the possibility of signing the Olympique Marseille striker during the upcoming winter transfer window. This move could end his spell with the French club, according to the French website 'Le Transferts'.
The same source reported in a report published on Thursday that Tottenham's management has renewed their interest in the services of the Algerian national team striker, after monitoring his situation during the last summer transfer window. It noted that the London club is considering making an offer worth up to €30 million.
The report did not reveal any agreement between the two clubs, nor did it confirm Tottenham's submission of an official offer, making the transfer of Gouiri merely a possibility as negotiations progress ahead of the winter transfer window.
The 26-year-old Algerian forward is contracted to Olympique Marseille until June 2029, having joined the team in January 2025 after a previous stint in Ligue 1.
Guiri has posted impressive attacking numbers since the start of the current season, having scored five goals and provided two assists in 11 matches, according to the data in the report. This tally strengthens his presence among the attacking options being considered by the English club.
Despite these figures, the player continues to face criticism regarding the stability of his performances, at a time when he retains importance within the attacking setup of Marseille, which could make his departure during the mid-season an additional challenge for the French club's management, who would need to find a replacement if they agree to his transfer.
Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi is highlighted as a factor that may explain the renewed interest in Gouiri, given his knowledge of the player's abilities during their time together at Olympique Marseille.
As the winter transfer window approaches, the future of the Algerian striker remains tied to the seriousness of Tottenham's interest and Marseille's stance on letting him go, with no official confirmation regarding a potential transfer so far.
