Manchester United inquire about signing Ivan Toney from Al Ahly FC

Reports have revealed that Manchester United are moving to explore the possibility of signing English striker Ivan Toney from Al Ahly FC, after the club made official inquiries about his acquisition during the upcoming transfer window, according to journalist Mark Bruce.

With this move, Manchester United have joined the list of English clubs interested in the striker's services, having been linked with Newcastle over the past few weeks, making him a potential target for more than one club in the Premier League.

Data indicates that Ivan Toney does not mind returning to the Premier League, which could give clubs interested in signing him the opportunity to move towards making official offers in the upcoming period.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are continuing to explore multiple attacking options before making their final decision on the player who will bolster their front line and address the team's deficiencies.

Ivan Toney has signed a contract with Al Ahly FC that runs until the summer of 2028, having moved to the Saudi Pro League side in the summer of 2024 from Brentford.

The English striker is having a standout scoring season in the Saudi Pro League, having scored 13 goals, which puts him at the top of the goalscorer rankings and enhances his status among the leading forwards in the competition.

Reports of Manchester United's interest come at a difficult time for Al Ahly FC, who suffered a heavy defeat against Al Shabab, losing 6-1 on Friday evening in the 12th round of the Saudi Pro League.
