The truth about Manchester United and Chelsea's negotiations for Palmer
Cole Palmer's chances of moving to Manchester United have diminished, as reports reveal that officials from both clubs did not discuss the player's name during their dealings in the last summer transfer window, despite the rumors linking him with a move to Old Trafford.
According to "TEAMtalk", citing the "Daily Mail", Palmer, who is 24 years old, has been a Manchester United supporter since childhood, having been born and raised in the city, and he considered Wayne Rony his idol.
These speculations coincide with the uncertainty surrounding Bruno Fernandes, whose contract ends next year, with the club having the option to extend it by 12 months, despite his dip in form and having gone six consecutive matches without scoring or assisting a goal.
The Daily Mail confirmed that Cole Palmer's name was not mentioned during talks between Manchester United and Chelsea last summer, which included negotiations regarding André Santos in a deal worth £48 million, plus £1 million in incentives.
The report indicated that the speculation regarding Palmer's desire to move to Manchester United did not come from nowhere, as at least one person close to the player supports it, but the club has not taken any steps to sign him.
Cole Palmer has renewed his contract with Chelsea during October, increasing his salary and extending his association with the club until 2034, making a move to Manchester United unlikely, even if Bruno Fernandes were to leave.
