Michael Carrick, the manager of Manchester United, expressed his frustration following the loss to Chelsea by two goals to nil, confirming that his team had a good first half but was unable to maintain that level after the break.

Carrick said: "We didn't come out onto the pitch in the second half, and we couldn't get into the rhythm of the game. We could have, in fact we should have, finished the first half ahead, as things were going positively as we hoped."

"We could have created more chances, and I felt we were in a good position, but we found a way to lose our balance during the second half. We conceded a goal in a bad way, then came the penalty, and we found ourselves in a very difficult situation, and the game changed completely."

He continued: "We cannot ignore the fact that we have not achieved enough victories. The players were in good shape during the first half, but we did not start the second half in an ideal way, and the performance was inconsistent and we could not regain our rhythm. Chelsea scored first after the break, and in the end, that was the difference."

Regarding the red card received by Lisandro Martínez, Carrick explained: "I haven't seen the incident yet, and to be honest, I haven't looked at it."

When asked if he felt that Lisandro Martínez had let him down, he replied: "No."

Manchester United's manager spoke about the fans' reaction, saying: "There are a lot of emotions, we are a big club and we want to win matches. The supporters put in a great effort and come to the stadium, spending a lot of money to watch us. I think the players were in a good position during the match, but some things went against us."

"The events turned against us significantly, and things changed quickly, and there are a lot of emotions at the moment. We have to move forward and take advantage of the positive aspects we showed today, especially in the first half, and build on that in the upcoming matches."

Regarding the possibility of continuing as the head coach of the team for the next match, Carrick replied: "Yes."
