Bastoni sets crucial condition for move to FC Barcelona
Alessandro Bastoni, the Inter Milan defender, remains open to the idea of moving to FC Barcelona, despite the disappointment he faced last summer. However, he insists on receiving direct confirmation from Hans Flick, the Catalan team's coach, regarding his desire to sign him.
Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Alessandro Bastoni, aged 27, is not closing the door on listening to a new offer from FC Barcelona, especially as his name remains on the list of defenders that Deco is considering signing to strengthen the backline.
Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni was Barcelona's first target last season, and Deco has managed to reach an agreement with him until 2031, but the deal was contingent on Flick's approval, who was not convinced about signing him in May, preferring to rely on Gerard Martin in central defense and strengthen other positions.
Alessandro Bastoni is greatly disappointed after being enthusiastic about joining the FC Barcelona project, but he does not rule out completing the transfer in the future, provided that he is a priority for the German coach, and not just for Deco, who has shown his insistence on signing him.
In contrast, Alessandro Bastoni is happy at Inter Milan, which he considers his home, and he has become one of the team's leaders this season. He is also tied to a contract with them until 2028.
The Spanish newspaper reported that Alessandro Bastoni wants to speak directly with Flick and hear his confirmation of interest in signing him before taking any step towards a move to FC Barcelona.
