AC Milan and Inter reveal details of their new stadium
AC Milan has revealed details of the new "Generali Stadium" project, which will become a shared home for both AC Milan and Inter, with a capacity of 71,500 spectators. This step represents a new phase in the history of both clubs.
Construction is expected to begin in 2028, with the stadium targeted to open in the 2031-2032 season after obtaining all necessary approvals. The project is designed by the firms "Foster + Partners" and "MANICA", following an architectural vision that combines modernity with the fan experience.
The stadium will feature two-tiered stands surrounding the pitch at a 360-degree angle, while the ultras' stands behind the goals will be single-tiered with a slope of 37 degrees. The stadium will also be equipped with a double-curved roof fitted with solar panels and advanced technologies to enhance acoustic quality.
The project is not limited to just building the stadium; it also includes the development of an area of 281,000 square meters, featuring green spaces and commercial and recreational facilities. The company "Generali" has acquired the naming rights for the stadium, alongside its official insurance partnership with the two clubs, while the project is being executed with a joint investment from the owners of AC Milan and Inter, RedBird and Octree.
