Kvaratskhelia undergoes surgery in Doha and will miss the rest of the season
Paris Saint-Germain have suffered a major blow after it was confirmed that their Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the match against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, which ended with the Parisian team winning four goals to two.
According to French newspaper L'Équipe, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is scheduled to undergo surgery in the Qatari capital of Doha at the Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital, specialized in treating sports injuries.
Expectations indicate that the Georgian winger will be sidelined until the end of the 2026-2027 season, pending developments in his condition during the recovery and rehabilitation phase, as ACL injuries typically take several months before returning to competitive action.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's injury is a significant loss for Paris Saint-Germain, who will miss one of their key attacking players in the upcoming phase, a blow to the team's ambitions in competing for domestic and continental titles.
