Paris Saint-Germain hold on to renewing Kvaratskhelia's contract despite ACL injury

Paris Saint-Germain are continuing their efforts to extend the contract of their Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, despite the serious injury he recently suffered. This is a clear indication of the club's commitment to keeping their winger as part of their sporting project in the coming years.

According to French network RMC Sport, the management of Paris Saint-Germain is targeting an extension of the player's contract, which currently runs until 2029, with the intention of improving his salary to make him one of the highest earners in the team.

According to the same source, negotiations have begun between the parties regarding a contract extension for three additional seasons, while the financial details are still under discussion, without the injury affecting the club's plans regarding the player's future.

Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee during the match against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, which ended with the French team winning four goals to two on Tuesday evening.

The Georgian winger left the pitch due to injury, with medical examinations confirming its severity. It has been announced that he will undergo surgery in the coming days, although no return date to the pitch has been specified.

The injury raises concerns about the player's potential absence for most of the current season, possibly even the entire season, which would be a significant blow for Paris Saint-Germain, considering his attacking role and contributions to the club's recent European successes.

Despite the expected long absence, Paris Saint-Germain do not intend to abandon their plan to secure Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's future, as they continue to work on extending his contract and improving his salary to ensure his continued presence in the team for additional years.
