Confederations Cup final date set

FIFA has announced the date and venue for the final of the Confederations Cup, which Paris Saint-Germain aims to retain after winning the last edition against Flamengo.

The final match will take place on Wednesday, December 16, 2026, at Ahmad Benali Stadium in Al-Rayyan, Qatar, located west of Doha, although the kickoff time has not yet been determined.

Paris Saint-Germain won the title in the last edition in December 2025, after defeating Flamengo on penalties following a draw between the two teams, securing another global title. This year, they return to defend their title as the UEFA Champions League champions.

The identity of the French team's opponent in the final is yet to be determined, as it will become clear on December 12, following the Semi-Final match between Mamelodi Sundowns FC and the winner of the match between Deportivo Toluca and the Copa Libertadores champion.

Palmeiras have secured their place in the Copa Libertadores final, scheduled for November 28, and are awaiting the winner of the match between Club Estudiantes de La Plata and Flamengo to determine the champion of the continental competition.

The winner of the match between Deportivo Toluca and the Copa Libertadores champion will meet on December 9 in Doha, with the victor going on to face Mamelodi Sundowns FC in the next stage, before the winner advances to meet Paris Saint-Germain in the final. The South African team had previously overcome Al-Ahli in their path to this stage, while New Zealand's Auckland City FC exited the tournament in the first round.
