Tension is rising at Getafe following a dispute between coach José Bordalás and club president Ángel Torres, stemming from a decline in results and the sharp criticisms the coach directed at the club's management after a heavy defeat against Lugano, losing five goals to nil, in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Bordalás has expressed his dissatisfaction with the unfulfilled promises made by the management, confirming his feeling of being deceived due to the failure to deliver on commitments related to strengthening the team, at a time when Getafe is competing in LaLiga, the Copa del Rey, and European competitions. The coach said: "I feel that I have been deceived, because what I was promised year after year has not been realized."

José Bordalás added that the team does not have the squad capable of competing in three tournaments, noting that he warned since last May about the difficulty of the season due to playing matches every three days. He continued: "It has been proven that we do not have a suitable squad for that," before directing further criticism at the team's level following the defeat against Lugano.

In contrast, Getafe president Ángel Torres has sharply responded to the coach's statements, rejecting accusations of the management not fulfilling its promises. He said: "Bordalás has a face harder than cement when he tells me, after 30 years, that I deceived him. I don't know why he is still here if he is not satisfied, and he knew the situation beforehand."

The figures indicate a similarity in the market value of the two line-ups that faced each other; the value of Getafe's starting line-up was around €33.6 million, compared to €32 million for Lugano's line-up, according to data from Transfermarkt. This has reignited the debate about the reasons for the heavy defeat and the impact of Bordalás' limited options.

Getafe spent nearly €20 million during the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad, including activating purchase options for several players, alongside paying €2.5 million to sign Ramón Terrats. The club also made around €14 million from selling some of their players. However, Bordalás believes the team still suffers from an imbalance and a lack of depth, considering that his squad is not sufficient even to compete in a single competition.

In the midst of the crisis, Colombian Johan Mojica, one of the new arrivals to the team, spoke on behalf of the dressing room, trying to calm the atmosphere and avoid escalating the conflict between the coach and the management.

Mojica said: "I don't want to cause any more problems. We are here to do our job on the pitch," adding: "We must stay united, we are with the coach and with the players as well. We need to create a positive atmosphere and realize that what happened yesterday is a big lesson that drives us to present a better image in all competitions."

Amid Bordalás's insistence on his position and Torres's refusal to hold the management responsible for the results, the gap of disagreement within Getafe is widening, at a time when the team needs to quickly regain its balance to avoid the repercussions of the administrative and technical crisis on its campaign in LaLiga and other competitions.
