Aston Villa conquer Manchester City and hand them their first loss in the Premier League

Aston Villa achieved a victory over Manchester City with a score of 2-1 in the match that brought the two teams together at Villa Park, as part of the eighth round of the Premier League.

Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring for Aston Villa in the 6th minute, capitalising on a pass from McGinn, to see the hosts end the first half leading by a goal to nil.

Manchester City equalised in the 52nd minute through Erling Haaland, who scored with a header after a cross from Ndai. Nicolas Jackson then returned to give Aston Villa the winning goal in the 60th minute, converting a cross from Mbappé with a low shot that goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma failed to save.

With this result, Manchester City's tally remains at 21 points at the top of the table, while Aston Villa have raised their total to 11 points in sixth place.

Arsenal are currently in second place with 18 points, with their match against Everton still to come. If they win, they will equal Manchester City on points.
